This high-quality fitting and bung kit from AutoMeter is intended for use with EGT (exhaust gas temperature) probes, enabling secure installation and durable mounting in exhaust manifold, header or pipe sections. The kit includes a ¼″ ID compression fitting that mates to a 1/8″ NPT male thread and a weld-in 1/8″ NPT female bung. Constructed from high-carbon steel, this kit offers a rugged and reliable foundation for accurate temperature monitoring under extreme conditions.

Compatibility & Installation Notes

• Choose a proper location on the exhaust manifold/header/down-pipe: ideally before the first bend and at a consistent distance from the cylinder head if installing multiple probes.

• Drill a 9/16″ hole (per manual guidance) for the bung installation, clean it of burrs, and weld the bung 360° around its base for secure mounting.

• After welding the bung, install the compression fitting and tighten according to torque/spec instructions.

• Route the probe wiring away from high heat, moving parts, and sharp edges; ensure proper insulation and mounting.

• Confirm the probe, fitting, and the rest of the EGT system are compatible with your gauge and wiring harness before finalizing the install.
